I am so happy with my life right now. My family approves of my girlfriend, they went in to visit her at work today and my dad gave her 20 bucks. I am blissfully happy. I am planning everything in detail of the next year of my life. And it honestly feels like, for the first time in forever that everything is going to be ok.
Yes, my parents are divorced. Yes, sometimes shit sucks and money is tight. But what life really comes down to is the moments that you embrace fully. Those times that you can’t believe that you were ever unhappy.
Everything is going to be ok. woo hoo.

Today has been a very interesting day. It is the beginning of rush week for the boys which means I will be here more than normal. Boys came through the house on tours, examining every inch determining whether or not it was something they wanted to be apart of. A friend of mine Kennedy, came through the house wanting to rush. Kennedy is also gay. This made me nervous, not because the boys hate gay people but because they were just not used to gay men being around the house. So I started asking a few of them how they would feel if a gay man were to try to rush their house. For the most part the outlook was positive, most everyone was saying it doesn’t fucking matter as long as he is a good guy. But then I asked two of the boys and they replied with “he should probably find another house to rush”. I freaked out, literally started crying. Here I am, a gay woman, around these boys every day. And they are are saying that my friend, a gay man, should find another house to rush. I was heartbroken to hear such dear friends say something like that. I continued to talk to more of the boys. Told them the responses of the others. They were outraged to hear that their brothers were saying such things about a respectable human being and about gays in general. I felt much better knowing that they were just as angry and hurt as I was over this subject. Now as it stands, most of the boys are for a gay person rushing their house, but there are still the few that don’t know how to feel around a gay man. I am hurt, but I have hope that their ignorance which is simply not understanding; can be changed.
